Why Jacqueline Fernandez is tougher competition that she appears to be like?

Decoding Jackie’s resurgence in Bollywood

There is always mega buzz surrounding Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. Girls like Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor are also talked about. However, Jacqueline Fernandez is an actress who does not have constant media attention around her. The beauty is seen only during the release of her films. Coming to films, Dishoom is releasing tomorrow and we have an interesting observation about Jacqueline Fernandez’s career. From her debut in Aladin to Kick in 2014, the lady had only one film every year. And her role in those films wasn’t too prominent either. Post Kick, we can safely say that her career has started its second innings. It is one that promises to be truly exciting. She has Dishoom this weekend followed by The Flying Jatt. Plus, there is Bang Bang 2 with Sidharth Malhotra. She is one gal who seems to have handled the lull period in her life extremely well. Here is decoding why and how Jacqueline Fernandez survived and emerged successful. Trade expert and exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi says, “I would say her second phase post Kick has been quite good. It was a film that presented her as a proper mainstream Hindi film heroine and she grabbed the opportunity with both hands.”

One noticeable factor is that Jacqueline has always worked with known banner irrespective of her role. Whether it was Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (2010) produced by Warner Bros or Housefull, they have been A-list projects. “She is an extremely wise girl. All her projects were from big banners and she got all the exposure that comes from being part of such films. People would say that they were ensemble films but no one can deny that she got noticed in each one of them. She is very persevering too.” Barring Roy, which fared moderately at the box-office, Jacqueline has not done lengthy roles in any of the films. “Every film-maker would say that Jackie is one of the most sporting gals around. You can make her do action or comedy or any other genre. She gives her 100 per cent to a project right from the start to the last promotions and that matters a lot,” opines Rathi.

The actress has a loyal fan base after Kick and she is liked by kids as well. “Kick took her career to a new level and after associating with Dharma for Bang Bang 2, it is notches higher. She is out to watch out for,” says Rathi.

It is not only films but the lady’s public appearances have also worked for her. Stylist Ami Patel says, “I have not worked with Jacqueline much but I can say she is a wonderful and sweet person. Of course, she is a great dresser and carries off her clothes with a lot of poise. She has great energy, which builds a nice aura around her. It is the personality that counts.”
