Sultan hero broke down at Rajjat Barjatya’s prayer meet and the pictures have literally got everyone talking…
Salman Khan crying at Rajjat Barjatya’s funeral proves the actor’s relationship with Sooraj Barjatya family is more than professional. We all know that Salman has a packed work schedule and is winding up his work on Bigg Boss season 10 ahead of leaving for his next film with Kabir Khan, Tubelight in Ladakh. It was no surprise to see the actor at Sooraj Barjatya’s brother’s funeral. But what has shocked many inducing his fans is the fact that Khan let his strong demeanour fall and showed us a facet that nobody has ever witnessed. We bet that the paparazzi was equally taken aback as they captured one of his most real moments.
Salman Khan shares a special bond with the Barjatyas. The actor recently reunited with Sooraj Barjatya for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that also starred Sonam Kapoor as his heroine. Despite the film not performing as well as the rest of Khan films, the actor is willing to collaborate with the filmmaker soon. Barjatya in a recent interview confirmed that he is penning a script with Salman in mind and the actor too gave it a nod even before reading the story. During a press interaction the actor said, “He is like a brother to me and whatever I am today is because of him. He had made Maine Pyaar Kiya. So till the time he wants to work with me, I would love to do films with him.”
Salman Khan’s first big film was Maine Pyaar Kiya in 1989 and the actor feels indebted to the Rajshri production for launching his career. The actor has also featured in film like Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999), Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! (1994), all of which have fared well and been accepted by his fans. The Barjatya’s have often portrayed Salman’s soft side to the audience. The actor today might be known for his action avatars but Rajshri has always managed to showcase a rare aspect of this superstar’s persona. While Aamir Khan had made an impact in Bollywood with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, it took Salman many years to break into the big league. The actor until Maine Pyaar Kiya had only portrayed Rekha’s brother in law in Biwi Ho To Aisi and failed to make an impression as a hero. It was Sooraj Barjatya‘s debut that helped Salman find a footing in the industry.
Not many know that Salman fondly calls the Rajshri honcho as Sooraj Babu while the latter calls him as Salman Bhai. In an interview Salman had described his special relationship with Sooraj and said, “My sister says that we are connected by blood. But with Sooraj, there is a connection.”
The actor feels that Sooraj has always come to his rescue in professional space and added, “At every given point in my life when nothing was happening in my life came Maine Pyar Kiya, again I am going down and there comes Hum Aapke Hain Koun, again I am going through shit and there came Hum Saath Saath Hain. I’m going through shit, he took my life up, I took his life down.”
And even though he is one of the biggest superstars in Bollywood today Salman feels grateful to the Barjatyas. In the same interview to a daily the actor revealed how PRDP was the biggest film he had ever done. And proved that he cherishes his friendship with Sooraj by saying- “PRDP is the largest film that I have done so far. If that is not love, then what is it? It’s a brotherly bond.”
Rajjat Barjatya is Sooraj’s cousin and the duo belong to a very close knit family. Rajjat was detected with cancer in 2010, the MD and CEO of Rajshri Media, passed away on July 29 at the Jaslok hospital in Mumbai. His funeral and prayer meet was attended by close family and friends from the industry. Apart from Salman Khan his PRDP co-star Sonam Kapoor too was spotted at the prayer meet.

Salman Khan’s this moment only shows that his personal relationships are the closest bonds that affect him. A star who generally is perceived as brash and a man-child definitely is a softie at heart.
