Rohit Khandelwal has recently bagged the Mr World title for India and we could not have asked for anything more. It is the first time that an Indian has been honoured with coveted title and it’s a proud feeling.

And as the obvious next move, he might soon enter Bollywood. But before Rohit, there were quite a few who started their career with modelling and soon ventured into acting.

John Abraham


John Abraham won the Gladrags manhunt in 1999 and since then he became a renowned face in the modelling industry. He was a successful model before he made his debut with Pooja Bhatt’s Jism in 2003 starring Bipasha Basu.

Siddharth Malhotra


Siddharth ventured into modeling at a very young age of 18. However, he was dissatisfied with the occupation and shifted to Bollywood. He was the assistant director to Karan Johar in the 2010 movie, My name is Khan. He forayed into acting with Johar’s Student Of The Year in 2013. Today, he is one of the rising stars in the industry.

Arjun Rampal


Post Milind, if there was anyone who ruled the modeling world, it was Arjun Rampal. He was tagged as the hottest model present in the modelling industry throughout India. He made his debut with Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat in 2001. Arjun with John have managed to be the most successful of all the models who have turned actors.

Dino Morea


Dino Morea was the first runners-up in the Gladrags Manhunt in 1995. He was a supermodel and received his first movie assignment in 1999 with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. He became a well known face in Bollywood with his 2003 hit movie Raaz starring Bipasha Basu.

Milind Soman


Milind Soman ruled the ramp like a King. One of the most successful models in the history of India, he appeared in Alisha Chinai’s album Made In India in 1995. Since 2000, he shifted his focus from modelling to films. He has movies like 16 December, Bheja Fry, Asoka, Say Salaam India and many more in his kitty.
