Wohoo! Jhalak will be both hot and cute this season, it seems!
Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 9 kickstarted on a great note last weekend. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa had created a lot of buzz even before it started because of the changed jury panel and talented line-up of contestants. For the ignorants, Jacqueline Fernandez has replaced Shahid Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit as the judge of the show. She is seen judging the show with Karan Johar and Ganesh Hegde.
Season 9 is touted to be the toughest season since there are popular faces like Karishma Tanna, Arjun Bijlani, Shakti Arora, Surveen Chawla and seasoned dancers like Salman Yusuff Khan and Shantanu Maheshwari.
There are a lot of new twists that have been brought this season. Along with the ‘hot hai’ theme and no public voting, this time makers have planned something new and different for the wildcard entries as well. According to a report on an entertainment portal, this season will only have kid celebrities as wildcard entrants. Out of six or seven children only three participants will go ahead in the show. Names like Ashoka fame Siddharth Nigam, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress Ruhaanika Dhawan and India’s Best Dramebaaz contestants Swasti Nitya and Preetjot are coming up. While there is news that Ruhanika is not too keen to enter as a wildcard, we still feel that this concept of having children as wildcard entries is refreshing.
We also hear that this time Jhalak will go on for six months. To retain the audience’s interest in the show the makers have come up with an interesting tactic. Each celeb contestant will be required to throw two fresh performances in a week. That means all the contestants will perform on both Saturday and Sunday. Earlier, fans refrained from tuning in to the channel on Sunday if they had already seen their favourite celebrity on Saturday. This will definitely put on a lot of pressure on the contestants.
