Randeep Hooda is on the warpath in Rajkumar Santoshi’s next!

After Laal Rang, Sarbjit and Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, Randeep to take on yet another diverse role!

According to a leading tabloid, The rom-com with Salman Khan may be put aside for now, but Rajkumar Santoshi is already working on his next, it will be period war drama based on the battle of Saragarhi. It turns out Randeep Hooda will play the titular character–Havildar Ishar singh. He is the military commander of the 36th Sikh which is known today as the fourth battle of the Sikh Regiment. So Randeep is going to be on warpath for reel! Reportedly, Rajkumar believes only Randeep Hooda could have pulled off the character especially after his performance in Sarbjit. Filming will take place in Chandigarh, Punjab, and even IN international locales, stated the leading tabloid.

“For the next month-and-a-half, Randeep will be studying Sikh history under a guru, learning sword fighting and shooting with vintage rifles. He is already a master of horse riding and has been visiting the stables more often in the last few weeks. He has the body language of a warrior and he will be beefing up to resemble Ishar Singh. He has already started growing out his hair and beard,“ revealed Filmmaker and CEO, wave Cinemas, Rahul Mittra to Mumbai Mirror.

“Taking care of the sentiments of the Sikh community is of utmost importance and Randeep is extremely serious about the prep. Being a Sikh soldier means embracing calmness and pure forms of warfare, there can be no frivolous behaviour and Randeep has completely submerged himself into the part,“ revealed the CEO further.

12th September 1897, 12,000 Afghans attacked a British Indian Contingent that comprised 21 sikhs stationed at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan and that’s what Saragarhi is primarily about.
