Rajamouli’s Baahubali FAILS to beat Aamir Khan’s PK’s weekend opening records at the China Box office!

Even though the historic drama released in more screens than PK!

As we all know, Rajamouli’s Baahubali created a storm a year ago across the world on July 10th 2015. It was claimed to be the highest grossing South Indian film that collected Rs 200 crore in five days. The film was applauded for its stellar performances, epic sets and its war sequences. The movie had become a global phenomenon, making Prabhas a global star as well! And that’s why  dubbed versions of the movie were released overseas, considering the kind of response the movie received. So after striking  reportedly a deal with a Chinese production house, Baahubali was set to release in China. Furthermore, it was to be shown in 6500 screens, beating PK’s screen count (4000 screens). The movie released on July 22 while a few  premiere shows were organised on Thursday night. On the first day, the movie collected $0.12 million (Rs. 8059854) Following which it collected $.25 million (16795112.50)  on Saturday and Sunday. So in total, Baahubali collected around $63 million which is about Rs 4.23 crores. Now if we compared these collection figures to PK, it fell far behind!

Aamir Khan’s PK when released in China reportedly collected a whopping 5. 32 million at its opening weekend! It shattered even Aamir Khan’s previous film’s record Dhoom 3 which collected about 3.17 million! So, Baahubali FAILED to break PK’s records! in fact, the movie is yet to hit the one million mark at the Chinese box office. Reportedly, the movie witnessed a 60 percent drop on the 4th day only collecting $.90 million at the Chinese box office.

Baahubali is a historical drama directed by ss Rajamouli featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia to name a few. Currently the Baahubali team is busy shooting the sequel. According to reports, the team is all set to shoot the climax in August. which alone costs a whopping Rs 30 crore. After an epic historical drama, everyone is anxiously waiting for its sequel which hopefully will answer the raging question why did Katappa kill Baahubali?
