The film is earning well but not like the period drama…
Rajinikanth‘s Kabali is still raking in good moolah. It has completed its first week on a high and has collected 262 cr. But despite all that it is still behind Baahubali which is the highest grossing South Indian film in the north. Kabali earned 26 crore in its first week in the northern belt.
Trade tracker Ramesh B took to Twitter to share the week 1 worldwide collections of Kabali saying,
#Kabali 1st Week World-wide Box Office:
India (Nett) – ₹ 149 Crs
India (Gross) – ₹ 172 Crs
Overseas – ₹ 90 Crs
Total – ₹ 262 Crs

However, the producer of the film S Thanu is positive that Kabali will topple Baahubali soon enough. The latter is part of the 500 crore club having made 50 cr on its opening day itself. It is the most successful South film in the history of Indian Cinema. A daily quoted Fox Star Studios CEO Vijay Singh, who distributed the film in the north, “It’s heartening to see that the Rajinikanth mania was not just limited to the south markets but prevalent across the country and that’s visible through the numbers it has garnered in the north. We are proud to have distributed the film in north India, and I am sure that the film will have a long run.”
In coming days, the film will continue to earn more money we hope and will at least match up to Baahubali if not defeat it.What say people?
