Is Sanjay Dutt’s biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor in trouble?

The Rajkumar Hirani directed project is yet to finalise a script…

Sanjay Dutt finished his tenure in Yerwada jail and is now a free man. While he is being eagerly awaited by fans to return on screen, there is another project related to Baba that everyone is stoked about. The project is Rajkumar Hirani directed biopic on Sanjay’s life. The movie is scheduled to begin shooting in the coming September with Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead role. But all doesn’t seem to be on track for the film.

A news daily reports that good friends Sanjay and Raju are having a tussle over the production rights of this project. This has caused the film to be pushed back. Seems like fans would have to wait a lot more to witness a film version of Sanjay’s life unfold on screen. And this is not all. The news daily reports that an insider revealed that Sanjay and Rajkumar are also having differences over the script of the film. Well, that is not new. It sort of happens when two creative minds team up. Doesn’t it? The actor-director duo are unable to decide unanimously on what should be kept in the film and what should be removed. In our opinion, why hold back, bare it all!

Refuting rumours that he was training Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor for his own biopic, Sanjay Dutt has said that director Rajkumar Hirani will take care of everything. “As of now there is no training or tips that I have given to Ranbir (Kapoor). I am not giving him any training for the film. Raju is there so he will take care of everything properly,” Sanjay said.

While Sanjay’s biopic might take time to see the light of day soon, his comeback film is on the right track and has been tentatively titled Badlaa. Nittin Keni, CEO, Zee Studios had earlier confirmed the same saying, “We are very happy to have joined hands with Sanjay Dutt and Siddharth Anand for this action thriller. The film brings in an experienced well-established star and one of the youngest high potential talent in the industry. The film is fully on track and as per schedule.”
