Dishoom box office collection: Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez’s film FAILS to BEAT Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor’s Baaghi!

The film had a good first weekend at the domestic box office…

Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez‘s Dishoom released this Friday and while it had a decent opening, it failed to beat Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor’s Baaghi on the opening day. The latest action release grew over the weekend to collect Rs 37.32 crore in 3 days, however seems like it still couldn’t compete against Tiger’s film.

But looks like it could have easily crossed the Rs 40 crore mark had the rain and the bandh in Bangalore not affected the film. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed in his tweet, “#Dishoom Fri 11.05 cr, Sat 12.02 cr, Sun 14.25 cr. Total: Rs 37.32 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT! #Dishoom biz was affected due to heavy rains in various parts of the country [torrential rains in Mumbai]. Else, biz would’ve been higher.”

While Dishoom was able to beat the weekend collection of Shahid Kapoor’s Udta Punjab, it failed to beat the collections of Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor’s Baaghi. Taran Adarsh revealed about the collections of the top weekend openers, when he tweeted, “Highest OPENING WEEKEND – 2016: 1. #Sultan 180.36 cr [extended 5-day weekend], 2. #HF3 53.31 cr, 3. #Fan 52.35 cr, 4. #Airlift 44.30 cr, 5. #Baaghi 38.58 cr, 6. #Dishoom 37.32 cr, 7. #UdtaPunjab 33.80 cr. HINDI FILMS. India biz.”

But with a good word of mouth publicity setting in for the film and with no clear competition to it, we expect Dishoom to do well over this week. In fact, no big film is releasing this week and so, it will have a very good run at the box office. Varun and Jacqueline’s film can easily give competition to the lifetime collections of Fan, Baaghi and Housefull 3 too.
