The actor talks about his love for realistic cinema!
Akshay Kumar is without a doubt one of the best actors we have. He not only stars in out and out masala films like Housefull 3, which are purely for the sake of wholesome entertainment, but he also makes sure that he stars in soul stirring films along time. Who else could have though about the existence of great film, right from Sangharsh to Airlift. Baby, Special 26, and the upcoming film Rustom also fall under the radar of meaningful cinema. Talking about the same Akshay opened up that he aspires to do more such films.
Talking to a news daily the actor said “When geniuses like Neeraj Pandey come to with you with an idea, you learn to never look the gift horse in the mouth. To me it’s a blessing that someone of Neeraj’s calibre has confidence in me, and wants me to represent matters of our nation on big screen.” Akshay says it is tough for him to say no to films that have a real life connect. “I can never hold back my passion to want to be a part of project that is based on real life incident. It’s something that I get wrapped up in. I never look back.” he added.
Akshay is all set to appear in another film inspired by true events. This one is titled Rustom and is based on the infamous Nanavati case that shook the nation back in the 1950’s. The film also stars Esha Gupta and Ilena D’Cruz as female leads alongside Khiladi Kumar. In an earlier interview with a news portal Akshay talked about how he prepared for this role. I didn’t interact with any naval men. Only there was one naval officer who was guiding me throughout about how the salute is, how the badges are to be worn, how the uniforms should be and how the walk should be.” he said.
